Hello Gorgeous!!
Let’s talk about something that is probably overlooked by the majority of people when getting ready. They are one of the MOST important features on the face: they show emotion, they frame the eyes and face, and they complete any look.
Determine Your Face Shape
"Knowing your face shape is the first step to creating your most beautiful look" - Kevyn Aucoin
Start by pulling your hair back from your face, and with no makeup on, look closely in the mirror. The features to look for are:
Measure the length of your face with a ruler. (In this case the total length of the face is 8).
- Divide the total length by 3. (In this case 8 divided by 3 is 2.67 or 2 2/3).
- Measure the length from the bottom of your nose to the bottom of your chin. (in this case 2 1/3),
- If the last number (the 2 1/3 number) is larger than the first number (the 2 2/3) than chances are you have a long face.
- If the last number is less than the first number than chances are you have a round face.
- If the last number is equal to the first number than chances are you have an oval face
Oval Face Shape
• forehead is wider than the chin
• prominent cheekbones
• face gracefully tapers to a narrow oval chin
Have an oval-shaped face? You're in luck! Oval faces can handle most brow types. Because of the proportionate shape, it's easy to pull off a variety of shapes. The perfect eyebrow shape is widely considered to be the soft angled eyebrow shape. The soft angled shape goes straight up and then gently curves round at the top and down.
Round Face Shape
• face is almost as wide as it is long
• face is widest at the cheeks
Make a round face appear less round by making the face appear longer. An arched eyebrow accomplishes the look to make it more oval look. The high peak opens the eyes vertically to elongate the face. Apply lines that go more up and down the face. This helps draw the eye up and down and lengthens it. Tweezing is the best bet when trying to create that high arched look for a round face.
Long Face Shape
• forehead, cheekbones and jawline are all about the same width
• face gracefully tapers to a narrow oval chin
• face gracefully tapers to a narrow oval chin
The goal for long faces is to make a long face appear shorter,I will do recommends flat, straight eyebrows.A flat brow shape accomplishes this. It's horizontal shape makes the face appear shorter.
Square Face Shape
• forehead, cheekbones and jawline are all about the same widths
• the squared jawline is the most
A square jaw is a strong feature. Balance it with a strong brow or soften it with curves. Bigger is better when it comes to square faces. A thick eyebrows for this face shape balances a heavier jawline. A defined sharp peak at the top of the brow makes the brow appear stronger, which is best achieved by waxing or threading. It gives a more natural brow shape as it removes the hair strands in a row, ensuring the result is natural and neat but not overly defined, she says.
Heart Face Shape
• similar to oval but the chin tapers to a point
A round arch to help soften the pointed chin. Apply rounded brows. The curve of the brow is soft, feminine and attractive and also creates the heart like look of the face. Soften your look with curves and create a beautiful heart shape using the point of your chin as the heart bottom and the brows as the top of the heart. The best eyebrow shape for a heart shaped face is rounded. A low arch rounded brow creates a natural look, while a highly arched brow can add length to a shorter heart shaped face or create a dramatic look.
Diamond Face Shape
• not as common as the other face shapes
• typically the face is highly angular
• the forehead is somewhat short and face is widest at the temples
The goal is to soften the angles in your diamond face shape and make the widest portion of the face appear less wide. To achieve, curves will both soften your look and make the widest portion of your face look less wide. The curved brow shape does this. Notice that many beautiful celebrities that have a diamond face shape also have curved brows.
Let's face it! When it comes to eyebrows, they can either make or break your entire look. Whether pencil thin or dramatically dark, the power of a perfectly shaped eyebrow can make a major statement on your face — but a single pluck could turn an A-list worthy brow into a D-list disaster. But with so many options—thick, thin, arched, straight. So, which brow is right for you?
